Listmania: Dog Agility vs. Rockstars

Mary, I can't help it. I like Madonna. And it is so nice that Madonna isn't dead.

I didn't rank my lists in any special order. They're just lists. I sure do love to keep lists.

Agility folks need pals to make them feel better when their feet are facing the wrong direction on a serpentine, for example, and their dogs don't know what they want. Rockstars can have their feet facing any direction (like in Madonna's case, facing East and West at the same time) and it doesn't affect their dogs understanding at all so they don't need friends for support. Agility folks don't do drugs for the most part (I understand that there are exceptions to that rule but stay with me here) because we are confused enough with a lot of rules to remember and most A types don't let loose. Rock stars do drugs and though they can let loose, sometimes they let too loose and just die. Sad but true. The last question is easy, there are 34 million Canadians to your 300 million Americans so we are bound to make it to some all star lists every now and then. I hope that helps you understand your lists more.

I'm glad we have Jodi eh? here to put some solid facts to the theoretical discussion. And Mary to point out that it must just be generational differences. Of course, if someone asks me who my favorite rock star is, I'm likely to say "Neil Diamond" before I remember what I'm doing and then it's all over.

My friend keith is in a college writing class and for the last paper of the session, they had to include an interview with someone. His topic was related to film (bear with me here, this is relevant). The instructor went around the room asking people who they were planning on interviewing, and they all said, like, my uncle or the columnist from the local paper. Keith said he'd interview either Leonard Maltin or Roger Ebert, and he says everyone laughed. Ebert replied to his request but said no; Maltin said yes. So my point is, you could try to contact your favorite rock stars and say, I do these interview on my blog, here are some samples, they're not your normal interviews at all, and your name comes up often, and I'd love it if you'd let me interview you for my blog. And taking a photo of you would be a bonus. And then what could happen? They could say no. Or they could say yes. (This would be difficult with the dead ones though.)

You could start with James Durbin.

For practice and to establish yourself as an interviewer of rock stars.

Because a rule of dog agility is help yer friends and Jodi is my friend. Jodi gave me her chair at usdaa nationals when she saw me sitting on the concrete floor is how we got to be friends. Jodi does stuff like this and makes sense of things.

Ellen, is this your tactful and subtle way of reminding me I am extremely tardy on my cool canine interviews? I am like totally so tardy.

It's a good thing I have so many lists, too. Because these ones left off Silvia Trkman, John Doe and David Bowie and misspelled Coulton. And forgot Gwen Stefani and Kim Gordon and Elvis Costello and Neil Young and Jeff Tweedy and so on and so on and son on.

LOL! Actually I didn't even think about Cool Canines, I was so busy thinking about agility stars and rock stars.

Elf, I am glad that you appreciate my contribution as solid facts because a lot of folks think I make shit up.

@Jodi: Well, I certainly would if I had the opportunity to.
