This is how we go to work sometimes.

I went to practice for a few minutes at my friend's field on the way to work. It was early and I didn't have enough coffee and it was wet. That kind of rain that's pretty lame as far as rain goes. Half assed drizzle that's enough to get everybody soaked without a single pounding drop. Heavy mist like invisible pins, that whisper and sting if you take the time to notice.

I just had a few minutes. Boy did I wish I had made that extra cup of coffee before I left the house. You know that miserable feeling? I parked in the mud and grabbed a frisbee from the car. We all slunked through the glop, where one of the big truck wahoos backhoed a trench through the swampy part. I let everybody loose. Egrets had been feeding on the grass and there were handfuls of white feathers for the taking. No one wanted to be stayed today. I set up a simple line of jumps, down the length of the field. And all together, we ran up and down, up and down, as fast as we could go. For a while. Was pretty fast running to do in rainboots. When we were done, everyone quite wet and muddy and panting. This is how we go to work sometimes.
