Laura, hugs. Timmy will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge with renewed light in his eyes and a clear mind. The emptiness left will soon be filled with happy long lasting memories of good times had.

Laura,
It's very fitting he was born on Valentine's Day. He brought you lots of love.

Laura,

I just want to say thank you for letting this loyal TSD-er have such an intimate view of the process of letting your Best Dog make his way beyond this life and into whatever next phase awaits. (Sorry, I just can't go there with the rainbow bridge thing). Everyone always wants to know how to train their dog, what to do about Behavior Problem X or Health Issue Y, but very very few people are able to put words to the complicated emotional process that is watching and helping your beloved friend complete the last part of his or her life. My deep respect, Captain, and an even deeper sympathy. This next chunk of time will suck without Timmy, Best Dog. You will get through it... take the time you need, but remember that your grammarizing crazy ramblin prose are much needed in this part of the world... Sarah

never met you, timmy, or any of your team, but i feel as though i know you all. anybody who has loved a dog and has seen the changes that age or disease bring on, knows how hard decisions have to be made. sometimes the decision is made by us, and sometimes by our dogs. loss leaves an emptiness that will never be quite filled by any other. that's what makes each one special.

Oh, Timmy. So sorry for your loss, Laura. I've never met you, but I am a faithful TSD reader (first time commenter) and wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you and also that I appreciate all that you've written about Timmy and your life with him. Best to you and all of TSD.

Laura;

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with Timmy with all of us. I have agonized with you every time you write about Timmy.

You and Timmy were lucky to find each other. You were a kind and faithful guardian for him.

Bless you both.

Maybe Timmy is watching the Marfa lights or chasing Goblins or crusin' Hollywood blvd. Or maybe he is just gone but will never be gone and will do all those things that you do for the rest of your life. And on beyond that because you write so well, Laura. Maybe he will get happier and happier as time goes by.

Good bye, Timmy, there you go.

Laura and Family,

We have all been there but that doesn't make it easier when it happens to YOU and your special dog. Just know that all us crazy dog people understand the mixed emotions and the gut wrenching sadness of missing that great dog.
Thank you for sharing your time with Timmy with us.
Best Wishes, Bernadette and the OBay Shelties

Oh... So hard. Your Timmy posts over the last while have brought tears to my eyes and many others' no doubt. I can only hope that a bit of weight has been lifted from your shoulders now that The Decision is done.

Almost 16 years; what a good long ride.

Been reading for about 6 months...I also feel like I know you and look forward to reading about your dogs. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your dog filled life.

Somewhere Timmy is running through a grassy field...one with no hills :)

RIP Timmy
